Abstract

The film Michurin, 1948, by Dovjenko, allows us to understand the internal conflicts of the Soviet society and politics, and the consolidation of a mistaken notion of science that would bring disastrous results to the country for the next 15 years. It was not a question of the trance of a dictator and the aspirations of an ambitious researcher, but also of positions on the part of society that managed to impose itself. Through cinematographic socio-history, we tried to show how the film was constructed in the clash between producers and political power, how it intended to convince the public of the official message, and how it was part of a larger campaign.
