Abstract

I present here the Syrian and Lebanese immigration to the city of St. Louis from 1885, when he recorded the first immigrants arriving in the port  of São Luís, until the late 1920s. This essay discusses their arrival in the capital and the choice of many within the state. The difficult choice in migrating and obstacles that this option required for travelers.
