Abstract: In 2012, as a part of the search for truth about the dictatorship in Brazil, a Peasant Truth Commission (CCV) was created to subsidize the work of the National Truth Commission. This article discusses the notions of memory, truth and reparation in the CCV, problematizing the tensions between remembering and forgetting crimes against peasants, the struggles for the insertion of these subjects in memory policies, as well as the search for reparation to victims and their families. It is, therefore, a discussion on the social construction of peasant memory and on the efforts to look back on the authoritarian past, aiming for a future committed to the non-repetition of past violations, with the Never Again.
Keywords: Peasants. Dictatorship. Memory.
