Abstract

Abstract: This article is a formulation concerning the representations of Carnival in São Luís, Maranhão during the years of 1970 to 2000. The memories of the exponents and participants of the Festival during the period under study will be discussed, taking into account the memories of these “bambas” who preformed and practiced the Carnival festival in Gonçalves Dias’ land.
