DA ÁGORA AO PANTHEON: intelectuais de “Atenas” e a literatura romântica no Maranhão

Abstract

With a character of literary detach, the symbolic constructions was placed as icon of the maranhense’s identity, as synonymous of cultural superiority, as a distinction in the letters area. The romantic literature of the maranhense group was way legitimator of the poetical creations about Maranhão greathness, detaching the personalities as Gonçalves Dias, Odorico Mendes, João Lisboa e Sotero dos Reis. The of criticize literary and of sociology postulates showed a specific concept to the man of letter’s perception way, in other words, made sense only for the individuals that detained the forms necessaries to decode this concept while a cultural element of symbolic nature. The set of the maranhense population was not inserted in this thinking away about the Maranhão Province.
