Abstract

The text deals with imaginative hermeneutics as a method for the treatment of historical documents – using the archaeology of the words as a decisive phase towards the understanding of the past – and with the distinction between historical past and practical past as the theoretical support that distinguishes the historian from other researchers in the field of the Social Sciences.
