Abstract

This text analyzes two moments of the relation established between modernity, the construction of cultural identities and some aspects of historiography. In the first part, it analyzes the convergence between modern thought, identities and historical narrative. It then discusses the fracture in Western modernity, which is reflected on cultural identities and the fragmented perspective of historiography.
