For this purpose we chose a novel by Rachel de Queiroz, namely, the Memorial de Maria Moura which reached as the mini television screens. In the analysis the categories were important gender and  violence of gender to understand the construction of statutes and powers of gender. It also looks at the novel as the settings can impose sexual binary data models including bodily existence masculinity associated with strength and defense of honor through violence and  femininity linked to motherhood, kindness, resignation, submission and passivity. Thus the actions of the character Maria Moura open fissures in which there are possibilities of an emerging genre interchangeable.
